Under Jim's management the Tigers Community Programme became both self-funding and profitable. He established a diverse programme of initiatives still going to this day, and increased the team from two to seven to become one of the most successful community departments in professional sport at the time.

Key achievements include:

- Setting up a community programme boasting 18 initiatives

- Introducing an annual Varsity Match at Welford Road, now played across all sports and over a 2-week period!

- Achieving Best Community Programme and overall category winner at National Sportsmatch Awards 2002

Other accolades include Sports Industry Awards finalists, Hollis Award Best Sports Educational Community Programme winner, Leicestershire Business Awards Contribution to the Community.
